Our excessive gas and oil usage leads to excessive drilling and to horrible spills. The vast majority of oil spills don't make national news. You can't appreciate just how many oil spills there are in the U.S. unless you get a Google Alert for "oil spill." The daily emails are extraordinarily depressing.
